Ted Pritchard of Australia converted a 1963 Ford Falcon to steam power in 1964.
The car was featured in the Sept 1976 Popular Science. The engine was a 2-cylinder, 90 degree Vee of 17.6 cubic inch displacement. Each cylinder was double acting uniflow. Power was stated as 36-40 hp. Admission valves were stainless steel poppet. Cutoff was controllable by the driver. Steam was throttled by foot pedal.
Burner control was based on steam pressure, off at 1400 psi and on at 1200 psi. Temperature was 900F.
